The glorious Companions to whom the Holy Prophet (sws) stood on the pulpit of the Prophet’s Mosque and gave the glad tidings of Paradise.

Those lucky Muslims who were overwhelmed by the meeting of the Holy Prophet (sws) in faith and ended in faith are called “Sahabi”. On the occasion of the farewell pilgrimage, the number of Sahaba Ikram was one hundred and twenty four thousand. Allah, the Exalted, has bestowed on these butterflies of the Beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) the highest position which the common man cannot even imagine. Thus, Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) gave the glad tidings of Paradise to many Companions, but among the Companions of Ikram there are ten glorious Companions whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not stand on the pulpit of the Prophet’s Mosque The good news is that they are called the ten evangelists. Here are the names of these lucky ones.

  1. Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq(R.A).

  2. Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA).

  3. Hazrat Uthman (RA).

  4. Hazrat Ali Murtaza (RA).

  5. Hazrat Talha bin Ubaidullah (RA).

  6. Hazrat Zubair bin Al-Awwam (RA).

 7. Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Awf(R.A).

3.Brief life history of Ashra Mubashra.

     1. Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him).

The first caliph, the successor of the Prophet (peace be upon him), Amir al-mu’minin, Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) is named Abdullah, Abu Bakr is his surname and Siddiq is his title He is a Quraysh and in the seventh generation his lineage is traced to the family tree of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He was born in Makkah two and a half years after the incident. He was the first man to convert to Islam. During his travels, in all Islamic jihads and in peace and war, he became the minister and advisor of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and remained his companion and devotee at every turn of the stages of prophethood. After two years, three months and eleven days, he flourished on the throne of Khilafah and passed away on Tuesday night, 13th of Jamadi-ul-Akhri. Hazrat Umar (RA) offered funeral prayers and was buried in the holy shrine of Hazrat Rahmat Alam in Roza Anwar.

       2. Hazrat Umar Farooq, (may Allah be pleased with him).

The second caliph, the successor of the Prophet (peace be upon him), gave the surname of Abu Hafs and the title of Farooq Azam to Amir al-mu’minin Hazrat Umar Farooq. He is very distinguished among the noble Quraysh in terms of his personal and family background. In the eighth line, your family lineage is similar to that of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He was born in Makkah thirteen years after the incident and Musharraf converted to Islam at the age of 27 in the sixth year of the proclamation of Prophethood. Your conversion to Islam made the Muslims very happy and they got a lot of support. The Holy Prophet (sws) even offered a public prayer in the Ka’bah with a group of Muslims. He continued to fight the infidels in all Islamic wars with militant dignity and the Prophet (sws) carried out all Islamic movements and As a minister and adviser to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), he remained loyal and comrade in all plans for peace and war. Amir al-mu’minin Abu Bakr Siddiq elected him caliph after him. He flourished on the throne of the Khilafah for ten years, six months and four days and fulfilled all the responsibilities of the successor of the Prophet (peace be upon him). On Wednesday, 26 Dhul-Hijjah, 23 AH, in the Fajr prayer, Abu Lu Lu Feroz Majusi Kafir stabbed him in the blessed abdomen. This wound was so severe that on the third day he was honored with martyrdom. He was 63 years old at the time of his death. Hazrat Sohaib offered his funeral prayers. He was buried inside the Holy Shrine of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) next to Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA).

    3. Hazrat Usman bin Affan(may Allah be pleased with him).

Amir al-mu’minin Hazrat Uthman bin Affan is the third caliph of the Muslims. Your surname is Abu Amr and your title is Zul Noorin. He is a Quraysh. Uthman bin Affan bin Al-Aas bin Umayya bin Abdul Shams bin Abdul Manaf. Your family tree is found in the genealogy of the Holy Prophet on Abdul Manaf. You had converted to Islam from the very beginning. Your uncle and other infidels persecuted you for converting to Islam. He migrated first to Abyssinia and then to Medina, so he is called “Sahib al-Hijratin” (two emigrants) and since the two daughters of the Prophet (peace be upon him) married one after the other, his The title is Zul-Noorin (the one with two lights). Apart from the Battle of Badr, he participated in all other Islamic jihads against the infidels. After the martyrdom of Amir al-mu’minin Hazrat Umar Farooq, he was elected caliph and held the throne for twelve years. During his caliphate, the boundaries of Islamic rule were greatly expanded and Africa and many other countries were conquered and joined the Islamic State. The rebels besieged his house and on Friday 12 Dhul-Hijjah 35 AH, one of the unfortunate rebels martyred him at night while he was reciting the Holy Quran. A few drops of his blood fell on the verse of the Holy Qur’an. His funeral prayer was offered by Hazrat Zubair bin Awwam, cousin of the Holy Prophet (sws). He is buried in Janat-ul-Baqi Cemetery in Madinah.

4.Hazrat Ali Murtaza (may Allah be pleased with him).

He is the fourth caliph of the Muslims and the cousin of the Holy Prophet. He was born inside the Ka’bah on Friday the 13th of Rajab, thirty years after the incident. His father’s name is Abu Talib and his mother’s name is Hazrat Fatima bint Asad. He converted to Islam as a child. He was brought up under the tutelage of the Holy Prophet (sws). In the Battle of Badr, the Battle of Uhud, the Battle of the Trench, etc., and in all the Islamic battles, he joined the jihad against the infidels with his immense courage and the infidels were killed by the great Arab heroes and warriors with his sword “Zulfiqar”. After the martyrdom of Amir al-mu’minin Hazrat Uthman bin Affan, the Ansar and the Muhajireen swore allegiance to him and chose him as Amir al-Mu’minin. He ruled for four years, eight months and nine days. On the 17th of Ramadan, 40 AH, Abdul Rahman bin Muljam Kharji Mardood, while going to Fajr prayers, struck a sword on his forehead and face which severely injured him and he was martyred for two days. According to some traditions, he was injured on the night of Friday the 19th of Ramadan and was martyred on the night of the 21st of Ramadan. His eldest son Hazrat Imam Hassan (RA) led his funeral prayers.

      5. Hazrat Talha bin Obaidullah, (may Allah be pleased with him).

He was born in Makkah to a Quraysh family. His parents named him Talha. The story of his conversion to Islam is that once he went to Basra on a business trip, a Christian pastor there asked him if the Prophet Ahmed had been born in Makkah. Surprised, he asked, “Who is Ahmad, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)?” The pastor said, “Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib. He is a prophet of the end times and this is the time of the appearance of his prophethood and the sign of his identity is that he will be born in Makkah and will migrate to the city of palms (Madinah Munawara). Because up to that time the Holy Prophet (sws) had not announced his prophethood. Therefore, Hazrat Talha could not give any answer about the last of the Prophets. But after coming to Makkah from Basra, when they found out that the Holy Prophet (sws) had declared his prophethood, they came to the court of Prophethood with Hazrat Abu Bakr and accepted Islam. The disbelievers of Makkah persecuted them immensely. They would tie them with ropes and kill them, but they remained steadfast on Islam like a mountain. Then he migrated to Madinah. He fought the infidels in all Islamic wars except the Battle of Badr. In the battle of Uhud, he showed great bravery. In protecting the Holy Prophet (sws) from the attacks of the infidels, he used to hold a sword and a spear in his hands, which cut off one of his fingers and left him paralyzed. In this battle, seventy-five wounds were inflicted on his body by arrows, swords and spears. On the day of the battle of Uhud, after the battle was over, when the Holy Prophet (sws) started climbing a rock, it became difficult to climb on the rock due to the weight of the iron armor. At that time, Talha sat down and sat on top of his body. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) climbed the rock and said happily, “Talha has made Paradise obligatory for her. On the 20th of Jamadi al-Akhri, 26 AH, during the battle of Jamal, he was shot by an arrow and was martyred at the age of 64.

       6. Hazrat Zubair bin Al-Awwam, (may Allah be pleased with him).

He is the son of Hazrat Safia, the paternal uncle of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Therefore, he is the cousin of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the nephew of Hazrat Khadija (PBUH) and the son-in-law of Hazrat Abu Bakr (PBUH). He was a tall, fair-skinned man with a sharp body and thanks to the excellent training of his mother Majida, he was fearless, tough, high spirited and brave from the very beginning. He converted to Islam at the age of sixteen. It is difficult to find an example of the militant bravery shown in all the Islamic battles against the infidels. Wherever you went with your sword, you would cut the ranks of the advancing army of infidels. The Holy Prophet (sws) gave him the title of “Disciple” (sincere and devoted friend). He was returning from Jang-e-Jamal when Amr bin Jur Moz martyred him by deception. You were sixty-four years old at the time of your martyrdom. He was buried in Basra.

    7. Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Awf, (may Allah be pleased with him).

The Quraysh family was born ten years after the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet. He received his early education and training in the same way as the children of the Quraysh chiefs. The reason for his conversion to Islam was that an old Christian monk in Yemen informed him of the appearance of the Prophet of the End Times and said that he would be born in Mecca and would migrate to Medina. When they returned to Mecca from Yemen, Abu Bakr Siddiq persuaded them to convert to Islam. So one day he came to the Prophet’s house and converted to Islam. Only a few people before him had converted to Islam, so as soon as he became a Muslim, his family began to break down the mountain of oppression on him. Emigrated and went to Abyssinia, then returned to Mecca from Abyssinia and left all his possessions and emigrated completely empty handed and went to Medina. He started trading in Madinah and in a few days he became so blessed that he became one of the richest people in the world.

He participated in all the Islamic battles with his life and property. In the battle of Uhud, he fought the infidels with such vigor and bestiality that he had twenty-one wounds on his body. He also had a deep cut on his leg that left him limping. Once the Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged his companions to give charity and he offered four thousand dirhams. The second time he offered forty thousand dirhams and the third time five hundred horses and five hundred camels. At the time of his death, he bequeathed a thousand horses and fifty thousand dinars. He bequeathed four hundred dinars to the Companions who took part in the Battle of Badr, and bequeathed a garden worth forty thousand dirhams to Umm Al-Mumineen Hazrat Ayesha and the other wives of the purified ones. He fell ill for a few days in 23 AH and died at a good age. He was buried in Janat al-Baqi ‘in Madinah.

      8. Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqas, (may Allah be pleased with him).

He is also one of the lucky ones to whom the Holy Prophet (sws) gave the glad tidings of Paradise. He too came to Islam at the age of 17 in the beginning of Islam and was present in all the battles with the Holy Prophet. He himself used to say: I am the first person to shoot arrows at the disbelievers in the way of Allah and we fought with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when we had nothing but acacia leaves and There was nothing to eat except acacia beans. During the time of the Righteous Caliphate, he was a general in the jihads of Persia and Rome. Amir al-mu’minin Umar Farooq appointed him governor of Kufa during his caliphate. Then he was deposed from this post and he continued to fight the infidels in equal jihads, sometimes as a soldier and sometimes as a general. When Hazrat Uthman Ghani became the Amir al-Mu’minin, he made him the governor of Kufa again. He died at the age of seventy-five in 55 AH. His funeral prayers were offered by Marwan bin Al-Hakam, the ruler of Madinah. He is buried in Janat al-Baqi ‘. This is the last of the ten Companions who received the glad tidings of Paradise, and after them the world was emptied of the appearance of the Tenth Preacher.

     9. Hazrat Saeed bin Zayd(may Allah be pleased with him).

He belongs to the Quraysh family and is the son of the famous Muhaddith Zayd bin Umrah bin Nafil of the pre-Islamic period and the brother-in-law of Amir al-mu’minin Hazrat Umar Farooq When they became Muslims, Hazrat Omar Farooq went to their house and beat them and his sister Fatima bint Al-Khattab. But these two became a mountain of perseverance and remained steadfast on Islam. In the Battle of Badr, Hazrat Talha and the Holy Prophet (sws) had sent him to locate the caravan of Abu Sufyan, so they could not take part in the battle of Badr, but in all the subsequent battles with swords. Always fight the infidels. He was a tall and brave young man. He died in 50 AH at the age of 70. You are buried in Janat al-Baqi.

      10. Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah(may Allah be pleased with him).

He is a very famous and respected person of the Quraysh family. Your family tree is related to the family of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) on the lineage of Bin Malik. He is also one of the ten evangelists. His real name is Amir and his surname is Abu Ubaidah. He has been given the title of “Amin-ul-Ummah” by the Prophet. In all the Islamic wars, he fought with the infidels with utmost vigor. In the battle of Uhud, two chains of an iron hat were stuck in the blessed face of the Holy Prophet (sws). He grabbed them with his teeth and pulled them out. The next two teeth of the Prophet (peace be upon him) were broken. He was very lion-hearted, brave, tall and with a terrible face. He died in Jordan in 18 AH. Hazrat Mu’adh ibn Jabal offered his funeral prayers and was buried at Besan. You were 58 years old at the time of your death.

The beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Fear Allah, fear Allah, do not criticize the Companions after me. He who loved them loved them because he loved me. He who hates them hates them because he hates me. He who persecuted them persecuted me. He who persecuted me persecuted Allah. And whoever harms Allah, then Allah will seize him. (Tirmidhi – Volume II – Page 249). May Allah Almighty grant us all the respect and love of the Companions. Amen
